With over 10 years of experience, award winning photographer Jim Ross goes well beyond just tripping the shutter. He combines a wonderful ability to work with people, a genuine curiosity and interest in his subjects, as well as perfect timing. The results are simple but powerful images that employ people and lighting that are rarely seen in today’s editorial market.

Whether it is a celebrity portrait or a couple of horse jockeys in a steam room, Jim is right in his element as long as there is a camera in his hand.“There is nothing like taking a photograph. Just getting that pinnacle moment, it’s a great feeling. Every assignment has incredible potential,” says the enthusiastic shooter.

Jim was formally trained in photojournalism at Loyalist College in Belleville, Ontario. Loyalist is considered a leading photojournalism program in Canada. Soon after graduating he found himself accepting assignments from leading Canadian publication. Some of his current clients are New York Times, the Globe and Mail, the Telegraph, Associated Press, Invision, the Toronto Star, Getty Images, the United Nations, and Report on Business magazine. He also shoots weddings using his photojournalistic eyes.  www.jimrossphoto.com
